It Is Good to Praise the Lord!

It Is Good to Praise the Lord!!!

It is good to praise the Lord,

and make music to HIS name!

Over the whole earth and heavens does

 HE rule and reign!

I will proclaim your love in the morning

 and your faithfulness at night.

May your words direct my feet...

 And be my guiding light!

I will make music from the lyre

and a melody from the harp…

I will sing of your mercy and love

straight from my heart!

Oh lord you make me joyful and glad

 by your wondrous deeds…

May I follow your righteous path

 as your Spirit leads!

I sing for great joy at the works

 of  your hands!

And behold your mighty power

over all of the lands!

How great are your works Oh Lord.

 Your thoughts are profound!

You picked me up and placed

 my life on solid ground!

The senseless man doesn’t know…

 Nor does he understand…

The mighty works of God performed by

 his outstretched hand!

Though the wicked spring up like grass…

 Evildoers will be destroyed

As God’s word stands forever

And HIS divine will is employed!!!

The Lord is exalted forever!

 And his enemies scatter!

Living for the Lord is really

 all that does matter!

I thank and worship you my Lord…

In all I say and do…

Even to my last breath.

I shall love and honor YOU!

You are my Lord and God.

And forever you will be…

The one whom I want to be with

throughout eternity!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
