I May Be Getting Older....

I May Be Getting Older…

I may be getting older…  But I miss the “Holy Ghost” preaching!

As a young person…  I remember

that it was “far reaching!”

I may be getting older…  But I don’t like what I am seeing!

The lies and distortions of God’s word

that many are believing!

I may be getting older…  But I love Jesus so much more!

It is his sweet presence that I worship and adore!

I may be getting older…  But my love for Jesus is unchanged!

Since I was a young man…  He remains the SAME!

I may be getting older…  But each time that I do something wrong…

I confess it all to Jesus!  In his arms

of mercy, is where I belong!

I may be getting older.   But I have something I must confess!

With Jesus in my heart and home…   I am truly blessed!

I may be getting older…    But there’s something

 I want you to know!

This same Jesus can bring true peace

and joy to your soul!

I may be getting older…  No tellin’ how long I’ll be around!

An everlasting life with Jesus…  I have certainly found!

You may be getting older…  Now is the opportunity to share…

Won’t you get alone with God

and take some time in prayer?

We’re all getting older!  Our days on earth are few!

Won’t you accept Jesus today?

The choice is up to YOU!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
