May We Have an Old Fashioned Love F

We Need An Old Fashioned Love for Jesus!

I know of a Christian brother who seems old fashioned.

I know He loves Jesus from a heart of compassion.

This brother doesn’t spend much time in entertainment.

He has Jesus and his family!  With hearts of contentment.

He’s happy with the simple things of life to get him by.

He has the love of Jesus in his heart.  And is satisfied!

I’m sure you would enjoy talking with this brother.

His family give meaning to “love one another.”

He has a love for God and a desire to study his word.

He’s willing to share it with those who want to be heard.

I’m thankful to the Lord, for the opportunity to know him!

It’s always a blessing to have some fellowship with him!

What may seem to be old fashioned to many, isn’t to him.

He and his family have a faith in Jesus, and dearly love him!

I think we can all learn an important lesson from above.

What really matters in life, is to be filled with God’s love.

May we fall in love with Jesus, in an “old fashioned way.”

And we seek to honor him, in what we do and say!

Let’s bring back that old fashioned love for Jesus in our life!

May this old fashioned love, remove all bitterness and strife!

May we be encouraged by each other, to take time and pray.

Praying; “Dear Jesus, help me to be more like you…  Today!”

May the blessing of God bind all of our families as one!

And bring an old fashioned love for God’s precious son!

This old fashioned love needs to bind our hearts together!

And keep us humbly serving God, both today and forever!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
