What the Cross of Christ Speaks to
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 3 times

What the Cross of Christ Speaks to Me!

Here I sit, with just empty space before me!

All that I had, has been taken from me!

Here I am, with emptiness deep inside.

Last night, I laid awake and cried!

I don’t know what to do, in this time of loss.

All I have left is a key chain with a cross!

This cross reminds me of something I once heard.

It reminds me of God’s voice and his holy word!

It brings to my heart a focus and attention.

And speaks of Christ’ death

and resurrection!

It speaks to my heart, as I hold it in my hand.

It speaks of God’s truth,

when I don’t understand.

I’m thankful of the cross, which reminds me to pray.

And ask for Jesus’ strength to make it thru today!

Whatever I’ve lost, I humbly gained.

The precious hope that I have in Jesus’ name!

I put the cross before me!

And the world behind me!

In the midst of my trouble,

it was God that found me!

The cross of Christ helped to speak peace to my mind.

It speaks of God’s faithfulness throughout time!

The cross of Christ helped to enlighten my way.

And is all I need to make it through today!

At the cross…  I’ve found peace and hope within!

And is a gentle reminder to keep

my eyes on HIM!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
