Does Family Matter Anymore?

Does Family Matter Anymore?

A family had a wedding...  The brother wasn’t invited.

The fact they didn’t want him,..

was already decided!

When asked why his name had been “omitted.”

It was because of past wrongs he had committed.

The words spoken, one could hardly believe it!

Any kind of forgiveness?

 They didn’t receive it!

How many times are ones not

 invited to “family occasions.”

Often times, families listen to “outside persuasions.”

Someone does something,

that may not be liked.

Then they’re often told to “go take a hike!

No wonder why so many families

battle on another!

They have failed to truly love each other!

As we continue to see families drift apart.

This often leads to a wounded

and broken heart!

Christ gave us his best!

When we were at our lowest!

A life of mercy ad forgiveness…

He wants to show us!

If we can’t treat one another

 as Christ commands…

Then HIS way of family living….

We’ll never understand!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
