Christmas in the City

christmas in the City

Soft snowflakes fall midst flashing neon lights;
she watches peaceful flow from window's view
in contrast to the traffic in the night-
the rushing cars and horns that echo, too.
Each street light holds a glowing Christmas tree;
reflections glimmer fringed on icy road.
A bustling of people rush to be
at home for Christmas Eve in warm abode.
She opens up the window, reaching out;
soft snowflakes fall so gently on her hand.
There's Christmas joy that makes her want to shout
beyond the skyscrapers, from where she stands...
such peace within the clamor and the din-
to know the joy of Him who lives within.
