Morning Glory

Morning Glory

(a Welsh AWDL GYWYDD)

Awakening in dawn's light,
the morning glory songstress
sings 'Glory be!  Glory be!' -
in bold yet soft azure dress.

From seed to bloom, fruitfully-
in hallowed hymn, color-blessed,
praising notes fulfill the air;
of God's hand, they do attest -

midst the gentle breeze of morn,
part of Creation's story...
'Glory be! Glory be! -
trumpets the morning glory!

(A Welsh AWDL GYWYDD is a quatrain stanza of 7 syllable lines.  Lines 2 and 4 rhyme...
 lines 1 and 3 echo any internal syllable of lines 2 and 4.)
