Rubaiyat in Autumn

Rubaiyat in Autumn

September boughs reflect a glow
in early Autumn season's flow;
I'm beckoned as the woodland calls
in ancient verse from long ago.

A host of leafen waterfalls
swirl winded, turning into shawls
before me on the forest floor;
a vibrancy within enthralls

while hark'ning to a deeper door
and all the while, wanting more,
but limited within my girth
yet basked in scripture heard before...

a leaf in time of little worth
yet saved by One who rose from earth
who's called my name since hallowed birth...
who's called my name since hallowed birth...
