Rays of Hope

(a Wyatt's sonnet)

The sun arises, bringing newborn light
o're earth, beginning one more counted day;
I open up my Bible...read and pray-
two lights concordant, shining oh so bright.

The Word my mind absorbs gives strength and might
and feeds my spirit's inner lees and hills
just as the sunlight over land fulfills
a nourishing so needed, that is right.

I grow in nature, as this hallowed earth-
His Word, the living water freely flowing-
the Son reflecting from me, brightly glowing...

the plan the same since Genesis of birth-
new light new dawning with each day that starts,
a love eternal beckoning my heart.

Psalm 119:130

The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

2Corinthians 4:6

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts
to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
