Rayghan Jayne

Just as she stands in sunlight near the wall,
I see an image of her, shadow tall,
and suddenly it's not the child I see-
but her all grown up, looking back at me.

I hear the clock upon the mantle chime;
the sound re-echoes like moments in time.
She turns and there I see a child again;
soon this will be a memory of then.

As quickly as she watches while I wink,
I think of how the years will in a blink
be winged as the yearning flight-bound dove
in God's plan for this little girl I love.

(Rayghan is my 9 year old granddaughter.) :)
