Woodland Hymn

Woodland Hymn

Like lightening rods amidst the woodland boughs,

sheer shafts of sunlight touch so brilliantly

upon the forest floor...so warmingly,

the deeper shaded fauna shining now.

Melodious, concordantly in song,

those forest creatures blessed with angel wings

flit back and forth from branch to branch and sing

amidst the canopy, cathedral strong.

It 'tis the light of He who shines within-

a candle of His love in soul land, deep;

it 'tis the voice of Him whom we are kin

melodiously heard as joy winds sweep

throughout the woodland, winged above the din-

cathedral peace on Heaven's path to reap...
