Come Here, My Child

Come Here, My Child

(a children's song/poem written in common
 measure, to be sung to the tune of
 'Amazing Grace.')

Come here my child and sit with me-
I'm waiting here for you;
Come pray with me and share your thoughts-
I'll help in all you do.

Come here my child - I am your friend-
for you, I have a plan;
I'll guide you forward on your path-
for I'm the Son of Man.

Come here my child and hold my hand;
I have a special love
for you and other children, too-
I'm gentle as the dove.

Come here my child - I'm listening;
I'll dry your every tear.
You are the apple of my eye-
my precious child, I'm here...

(I wrote this for my 10 year old granddaughter, Rayghan.)
