When Autumn Comes

When Autumn Comes

When Autumn comes, I shall be blessed

by hues of gold, red, rust and plum-

as vibrant then becomes earth's breast

when Autumn comes.

The wind stirred boughs shall shine and hum

in rustling sounds 'fore quiet rest

midst beating of time's ancient drum.

I shall be an invited guest

to woodland's great concordant thrum

where by His hand the trees are dressed...

when Autumn comes...
