The Fallen Flower

The Fallen Flower

Beat down by a relentless storm,
the fallen flower rises up,
in a new dawning, bright and warm-
it strives for sunlight's victors cup.

In tones of hues, no wrath is heard-
no eye for eye, just petals...soft;
in stem-strong vibrancy of word,
the bloom now bigger, floats aloft.

For with the storm, comes needed rain,
and this the praising flower knows-
that in the clearing, there is gain,
as from the storm, one truly grows.

So fragrant is the cheek that turns
from winds that blow so unforgiving;
determined is the root that yearns,
so spirited towards higher living.

Beat down by a relentless storm,
God gives the strength - God gives the power-
with each and every brand new morn...
yes...even for a fallen flower.
