From Trial to Blessings

(a blank verse poem)

It was the hardest trial I've been through;
I prayed and prayed, but never asked God why-
instead, I set my expectations high,
believing Rayghan Jayne would be ok.
I never doubted that she wouldn't be,
and now we say...it's no coincidence
a doctor diagnosed her just in time,
and stablized her life, this precious being.
Through pain and tears from her and us from heart,
came learned strength and patience...blessings found;
a new-life calling for her loving Mom-
a passion to help other children too.
It is the way God works, I do believe-
that is - He turns the trials into blessings...

(When our granddaughter was 4 (she's 9 now), she was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune
 disorder called dermatamyositis.  It was life-threatening, but through treatment and prayer,
 she is a 'normal' little girl today!  Out of this trial came amazing blessings...she is an
 excellent student in the third grade, and my daughter (her Mom) felt a new life calling to
 become a nurse to help children with the same disorder Rayghan was diagnosed with.
 She will graduate in another year with a nursing degree.  God turns the trials around, and
 out of the trials, come awesome blessings!)
