Isabella's Daffodils

Isabella's Daffodils

Her hands caress a budding daffodil;

expectant of the fields of blooms to be,

she looks around in awe upon the hill

so soon to turn into a yellow sea

of flowers, celebrating Spring- new born-

their golden plumes, like sails in the breeze.

Such winded waves of petals shall adorn

the hill in thousands.  Now, upon her knees,

she prays a thankful prayer to Him whose hand

re-orchestrates such beauty every Spring-

and sends it to the shore, her inner strand

where she'll be as a seabird taking wing

into the sky, no vibrancy concealed-

then oh!...the multitudes of blooms revealed!...
