This Snow

This Snow!

Lately, it seems to snow ev’ry Saturday night,
Making it hard to go to church, try as I might.
Sunday mornings dawn brings out the beauty of snow,
But the streets are still slick so I’m afraid to go.

I’ll tune in my favorite program on TV
Where a message about heaven is what I’ll see.
It warms my heart’s cockles and sets me to thinking
That I will be going there in just a blinking.

God loves each of us since before the world began.
Satan went to work on the first woman and man.
God gives him some leeway to try for destruction,
But offers salvation - HIS loving production.

I look out my window in the early morning light
To see the crystal sparkle of the snow so white
And think – how could anything be whiter than snow?
Yet the Holy Bible is accurate, I know.

“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world
that He even gave up His only begotten, unique Son,
so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on)
Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost)
but have eternal (everlasting) life.”
John 3:16 (Amplified Bible)

“Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord.
though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white
as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall
be like wool.”
Isaiah 1:18  (Amplified Bible)
