Old Lady’s Lament

Cold, cloudy days give me the blues-
No reason to put on my shoes.

Must buy food if I want to eat -
I’ll have to put shoes on my feet.

Here I sit to write some more stuff
Hoping I don’t sound grumpy or gruff.

I like to watch the snow’s soft fall,
Look out my window - snug and all.

I pray for family’s drive home -
Hope they stay there tonight , not roam.

Do I sound grumpy and “stuffy”?
Think I’ll sit here with my puppy.
