Do We Betray God?

When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden
God could have said, "There will be no pardon."
In His righteous anger He could have said,
"You did all this - now you can lie in your bed."
Because He loved before Creation,
He had a Plan that each tribe and nation
Would all have a real chance to be redeemed.
This really was not the end, as it may have seemed.

God, in great mercy, sent Jesus to us,
Born in a stable with no pomp or fuss.
He showed love and mercy to all He met,
Such unconditional love - unequaled yet.
This one perfect Lamb died in your stead.
He obeyed and now you don't have to dread
Forever without Him, sins payment due -
Accept His substitutionary death for you.

He's not short on mercy and long on mad.
Your life can be joyful instead of sad.
Let the risen Lord dwell deep in your heart.
From His grace and mercy never be apart.
Life may hold many trials and troubles -
He never promised they'd burst like bubbles.
God, help us show love as earth we trod,
Help us surely, in no way, to betray our God.

"Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and
sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God
so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 1 John 4:10, 11
