Not Heaven, but Nearing Its Coast

Not Heaven, but Nearing Its Coast

Christ has conquered all our foes;

We get the reward without the battle.

He took our sin, all our woes;

Our will intact, we’re not driven cattle.

We are no surprise to God.

He knew us long, long before we were formed.

The life we’d live on this sod

Would offer choices…decisions, the norm.

The Word of God says it all;

We don’t have to rely on our feelings.

No lottery ball to fall,

His plan’s in place for all human beings.

He knows us; He prays and cares.

Let’s follow the Holy Spirits leading

Lest we should stray unaware

That, on worldly things we are then feeding.

Don’t let Satan steal your joy.

Seek God first and desire His will the most.

With earthly treasures, don’t toy.

Now, that’s not heaven, but nearing its coast.
