About This Mother

Like most Mothers, she felt joy at His birth.
You would think she’d have no anxiety.
After all her first was The Perfect Child.

Then Simeon, who had waited long years,
Recognized Him, the promised Messiah.
They’ll speak against Him, a sword pierce your soul.

He was despised, hated in Nazareth.
Just imagine how His Mother felt then.
Think how she felt when they said, “He’s possessed.”

The Mother/child relationship would end.
“Who is My Mother? Who are My brothers?”
Yet, Mary saw the glory of Jesus.

Mary, three women and John at the Cross –
Could Mary have made that seamless garment –
They saw the suffering as sins He bore.

Jesus declared Mary as John’s Mother
And John, He declared to be Mary’s son.
Think of Me, Mother, now as your Savior.

John 3:16 says her gain is greater than her loss-
Thus for us all if we accept His Salvation.

Note: An article I read about Mary inspired this.
