Certainty

The daily broadcasts seen on the TV news
Astound and perplex…all the terrible views
Of the storms and fires and floods happening now
That cause us to ponder the why and the how.

Emotions are moved like sand dunes in the wind,
Potentially cutting off hope as we’re pinned
By uncertainties, even entertained fear
That we could lose those possessions we hold dear.

So some live lives of quiet desperation,
Just seeking help from the world’s strongest nation.
This kind of help will just be temporary
Like a band- aid from some apothecary.

One important thing we need to remember…
That God’s in control and does not surrender
Lives pledged to Him through faith in His Son, Jesus.
Our real home is Heaven where He awaits us.

That person is blessed whose certainty is God!

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
