Not About Me

If I have a special gift, I should use it,
But it’s not about me.

My body’s a Temple of God for His use,
But it’s not about me.

Not one earthly person possesses all gifts,
But it’s not about us.

Our God isn’t waiting for perfect people,
And this IS about us!

Pride comes along way before our destruction,
And this IS about us.

God doesn’t NEED us, but He’ll use us anyway,
But it’s not about us.

Norman Rockwell painted a picture for an advertisement for
interwoven socks.  A  bum was picking a sock out of the garbage
that was  “still good.”  No matter our age, God can use us if we
allow it and don’t get in the way.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
