God of Wonders

God of Wonders

Ere I was born He recorded my birth,

This little child with not much worth.

Through childhood days filled with joy or with woe,

He knew each time I stubbed my toe.

As time went by and I learned the Scriptures,

Much more the depth of Its Treasures,

The Spirit told my need of the Savior

To Heaven gain and His favor.

I asked Him to save me, from sin set free,

And now I know His face I’ll see

One day in Heaven with loved ones around,

His Grace poured out where love abounds.

He numbers all of the hairs on my head

So I don’t live in fear instead

Of faith in His power and in His Word

For all that will and has occurred.

He records my pain and bottles my tears

And helps me give Him all my fears.

Through all my life’s trials and hard places

I have His abundant Graces.

One day He’s coming to take me with Him

When the time is right – not a whim.

It’s not escapism, but faith and trust

In God’s pure timing is a must!

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
