God's Pattern for Life and Work

God's Pattern for Life and Work

The plate of life is filled to the brim

With things I want done, instead of Him.

Disaster waits now at the door

If  I pile on just one thing more.

Creative living, productive ways,

Producing something in these six days,

To honor God Who’s good and true…

Give praise to Him all my life through.

Now work is not just for the money.

Old Adam worked for no pay, honey!

Work JUST for pay ruins retirement.

Satisfaction’s the requirement.

Creation models a pattern free.

The structure patterns priority.

It’s broken down for good reasons,

Day, week, month, a year for seasons.

Divide the work…enjoy completion

As He leads us on to fruition.

Our Lord’s work is done…He’ll give rest

For body and soul.  We’re so blessed!

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
