The Only Savior

The Only Savior

He was betrayed with a kiss.
He was denied with a curse,
Plunged into sorrow and loss,
Was scourged, mocked and crowned with thorns,
Then left to die on a cross.

Angels could have set Him free,
Destroyed the soldiers around,
But God’s love for you and me
Kept Him there to die alone,
Agony for you and me.

In all that, He came to terms-
All done for our salvation.
He did it - defeats the worms,
Rose again - His work all done.
His own promise He confirmed!

He alone can save your soul.
Just ask Christ Jesus today.
He will cleanse and make you whole.
He is Truth, the only Way.
Ask -  He’ll cleanse and save your soul.

But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love
for us by the fact that while we were still sinners,
Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.
Romans 5:8  (Amplified Bible)

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
