Downstairs – Upstairs

Christ understands – He’s been “downstairs.”
Human best can’t get me “upstairs.”
It’ll do no good to “put on airs.”
He’s the One who knows and He cares.

How does Jesus live in my soul?
When I asked Christ to make me whole,
He took my sin – Heaven’s my goal.
His Holy Spirit guides – consoles.

I am never truly alone -
Don’t ever need to sob and moan.
He prays for me before the Throne.
His truth cannot be overblown!

“ I have been crucified with Christ. It is no
longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.
And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith
in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20
