Resurrection Coping Power

When the crucifixion day was done,

It seemed That Wonderful Life was ended.

They really didn’t know He was God’s Son.

Faith had on His miracles depended.

His wisdom had astounded them all.

They called Him Rabboni, beloved teacher.

They thought His kingdom would rise, not fall

In one week’s time; hope hung on that feature.

Now He was beaten, mocked, left to die.

It surely wasn’t what they had expected.

He’d told them, yet they still knew not why

He chose to die just as God elected.

He was taken down, lovingly laid

In Joseph’s new tomb and with great stone sealed.

Sunday came with respects to be paid.

He’s not here!  He is risen!  Senses reeled!

Joy in them returned as they met Him

On the road and later in that closed room.

They recognized their LORD, hope undimmed.

He promised the Holy Spirit, no gloom.

He sent them forth into all the world

To seek the lost, never fear nor cower.

‘Though beatings and death at them were hurled,

They knew Resurrection Coping Power!

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”   Matthew 28: 18-20
