How Could I Make It without Christ?

How Could I Make It Without Jesus?

Without Jesus…  How could I hope to make it?

I could try to just get by in life.  And just “fake it.”

For many years, I lived like I didn’t need him.

I wouldn’t accept his love or even believe him!

My life was filled with things I wanted to accomplish.

But soon, my life needed to be “replenished.”

I tried to live without God the best way I could.

I tried to live the kind of life that I would call “good.”

But, matter how “good” that I was pretending to be.

There was still a lot of sin deep inside of me!

My life became one big mess.   I was ashamed!

I knew Jesus was near.

So I called on his name.

I asked him if he would forgive m,e for all I had done.

What a wretched life, I had become!

Jesus reached out with his arms wide open.

Mercy and forgiveness were the words spoken!

I’m so thankful for everything that he did!

And so very grateful for all he was willing to give!

He gave me his love...  When I didn’t deserve any!

He took my sins away!  And there were many!

He gives me the strength to make it through the day.

Through every trial and problem...  He makes a way!

Christ’ love for me is very precious and sweet!

With him in my life.  I am complete!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
