As I Get Older, the More I Need Jes

As I Get Older,  I Need MORE Of Jesus!

The older I get, I see people die all around me.

Before I know it, death’s door shall find me!

The older I get, the more it’s getting plain to see.

I really need to start thinking about eternity!

The older I get, the more I’m getting forgetful.

There are things I have that aren’t very helpful!

The older I get, and think about the places I’ve been.

At times, it’s been so long, I can’t remember when.

As I get older, and think about what God has done…

There was a day long ago, when I accepted his son!

As I get older, there’s something precious to me.

It’s when I think about Jesus and his love for me!

As I get older, and my steps are getting shortened.

It’s the words of God that I want to be listenin’!

I need to spend more time with God in prayer.

Time is “passing me up.”  But often, I haven’t cared.

I need to rekindle my relationship with Christ above.

And allow him to strengthen my body with his love!

I need to be a yielded vessel to bring HIM praise!

And take time to honor him during my remaining days!

I ask Jesus to touch me with your holy spirit.

As I give my life to him, I need him to renew it!

My body is failing…  I should be praying and fasting.

It’s an honor to accept God’s gift of life everlasting!

Jesus is the redeemer that I’ve always needed!

He’s given me a new life!  Death is defeated!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
