Do You Obey The Bible?  Or the Constitution?

There is something held sacred

 by our government’s institution.

This is what we call;

 “The United States Constitution…”

It’s a document that many

look to as “a moral guide.”

This is causing wrong vs. right…

  A “great divide…”

This is a piece of paper,

 signed by several men…

This is not where the moral authority begins!

The Bible is God’s true authority,

and needs to rule our minds!

Anything less is like “walking on land mines…”

The ten commandments which

 were written long ago…

Are still relevant…  And were written

 to protect your soul!

The words written in God’s book

 are HIS rules for living!

These divine and pure words for us,

  is what he is giving!

There’s no Supreme Court sitting

 next to God’s throne!

His decisions are FINAL!  And his alone!

Won’t you live according to HIS words today?

And listen to HIS words…

Not what man has to say!

His word can save you and

 make your life complete…

And shall bring rest to your weary feet…

It will protect and shield you

 from God’s holy wrath.

And is a light and a lamp unto our path!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
