Jesus Knows My Heart!
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Only Jesus Knows My Heart!

Someone asked me; “how are you?”

I said, “fine.”  But this person never knew.

I wasn’t doing fine…  Not one single chance.

He didn’t know my life’s circumstance…

Little did he know of the problems inside.

There was something I wanted to hide!

I’ve had many problems and struggles within.

I don’t know where to start, or where to begin!

I once thought I had “the whole world by the tail.”

Everything I tried,

 simply failed!

My job and family began to disappear all around me!

The emptiness and loneliness

seemed to surround me!

It’s hard to put it into words.  And difficult to explain..

It seems like tomorrow, it will all be the same!

I come to YOU Jesus!  I have no one else to turn to!

I ask for your help now!  I disparately need you!

You know my problems and sins of the past...

Will you love and have mercy on me?  Is what I ask!

I’m thankful to you and the peace you bring!

I give you my whole life and everything!

I can't fool you!  You know me inside and out!

I know now, that you are what true life is all about!

I invite you in, as my lord and guest..

I know you’ll take care of me,

and take care of the rest!

You’re the only one I can trust in my darkest hour!

My life shall be changed!

 by your blood’s cleansing power!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
