Jesus Must Be Lifted Up!

Jesus Must Be Lifted Up!

Too many churches are in a “compromising” situation.

And have brought shame to God’s message of salvation.

As many struggle to have their plan to reach the lost.

They’ve often compromised the message of the cross!

Many come as they are but go home just the same.

Often bringing dishonor to the glory of Jesus’ name!

Holiness preaching is often replaced and discarded.

Many want a “fun” time before the service is started.

Jesus said; “If I’m lifted up, I’ll draw all unto me!”

This is a simple truth that many in church fail to see!

As many attempt to bring Christ to their own level.

They’re being led astray and tricked by the devil.

The message of the cross isn’t a compromising situation.

It’s about Jesus’ death and his plan for salvation!

His death on the cross displayed

his love and righteousness.

It was required of a God who demands a life of holiness!

It’s time to wake up church!  And be bound by a godly desire!

In everything that’s done, to lift Jesus’ name up higher!

His way, word and holiness, must be preached on!

It’s in Christ, and him alone, that we must depend on!

Let’s repent, confess and let Christ take care of the rest!

This is the godly way for his body to truly be blessed!

As his body, let’s come together

 in one purpose and mind…

And not compromise God’s word

in reaching mankind!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
