Do You Hold a Grudge?

Do You Hold a Grudge?

I knew of a "brother"
who held a grudge...
From this position...
 He wouldn't "budge."

When asked why he held this
against a certain person.
Having nothing to do with him.
 He was most certain.

The reason for this grudge...
Is probably "silly" to many
When asked for a good reason...
There wasn't any...

He said; "I don't hold any
 kind of unforgiveness.
"What I do..."  "Is none of your business!"

"I don't hold a grudge and
I want to be clear."
"There are some people."
 "I wish weren't here!"

Are there people in your life
who've been "shut out?"
Is this what being Christ'
 example is all about?

Living for Christ is not
about who we "avoid."
If a life of Godliness is
to be fully enjoyed...

We can make excuses to
"stay away from somebody."
This could be your brother...
 Neighbor...  Or anybody.

Christ gave his life and wants
 us to follow his rules...
He knows all about us...
And is never fooled!

May your life be filled with
 compassion for every soul.
In doing this...  You'll be made
 complete and whole!

Discover true freedom... Leave any
 "grudges" in the past.
Enjoy true victory in Christ...
  And a peace that'll last!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
