I Told Jesus...

I Told Jesus…

I told Jesus  I ‘m trying to do my best.

But lately, I’ve endured a lot of stress.

I told him that I’m tired and worn out.

I’m not sure what this life is all about.

I told him it seems like I don’t have the time

I’VE GOT A LOT OF THINGS ON MY MIND.

I’ve been busy with so many different things.

I’m not sure what tomorrow will bring.

Jesus came and whispered into my ear…

“Don’t worry for I am always here!”

He spoke words of LIFE and filled with grace.

“In me, you can always have a resting place.”

He spoke of his death and resurrection.

“”behold my glory and wondrous salvation!”

He spoke words that touched my heart within.

“I can forgive and take away your sin!”

I listened as he spoke to me

that eventful day.

I knelt down before him and prayed!

I ask him to come and turn my life around,

He said; “where there’s sin, grace

 more abounds.”

I got up and was joyful and excited.

Living for Jesus now, has been decided!

Each day comes a responsibility and a task.

There’s nothing too hard for him to ask.

He asks of a commitment to holy giving.

It’s his love for my sins, that he’s giving!

I’m thankful for this wonderful

choice I made!

There’s nothing for Jesus,

I would ever trade!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
