After Divorce, Forgiveness Must Beg

After Divorce, Forgiveness MUST Begin!

I know someone who blames his ex for the divorce.
He blames her for their marriage going "off course."
He won't admit to anything he's done as wrong.
Any kind of apology is just something that's "wrong."
You may think is ex is the "worst person there ever was."
He likes to point out her wrongdoings, just because...
He acts spiritual, as if God is really "on his side."
But continues to live with arrogance and pride.
I wonder what Jesus thinks of the words he's spoken.
I'm sure the heart of God listens and is broken.
We need to know we all have many shortcomings.
What kind of person, in Christ, are we becoming?
Let's put others sins at the foot of the cross.
Let's focus on Jesus' love and not on what's lost.
Let's strengthen our words on the forgiveness we can gain.
And stop giving someone else all of the blame.
Only by doing this, will we have a Godly victory.
And enjoy a life in Christ Jesus so abundantly!
Let's confess to one another, that we may be healed!
And not base what we say and live on how we feel!

Through this, can true healing and forgiveness begin…

When we speak kind words of the one we once called FRIEND!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
