We Have All Sinned and Fallen Short

We Have All Sinned And Fallen Short!

I often see people walking with a lot of pride.

They’re not ashamed, and have nothing to hide.

There’s a lot of things that people are proud of.

We’ve all done sinful things to speak of.

Some boast of various contributions they’ve made.

And speak of charities that they’ve paid.

In all of man’s accomplishments, where are we today?

When was the last time someone took time to pray?

The Bible says that we’ve all sinned and fallen short.

We’ll never measure up, in God’s righteous court!

In spite of man’s efforts, we have a sin problem!

No matter how smart we are.  We can’t solve them!

The only hope to ever finding a way of redemption…

Is to admit our sin, and accept God’s salvation!

Without Christ’ shed blood, we’re forever lost!

Let’s we not focus on ourselves, but the cross!

The judgment of God is coming upon us!

Let’s humble ourselves and seek his forgiveness!

Please come Lord Jesus, and cleanse us within!

As we acknowledge and confess our sins!

Pride goes before a fall…  That’ll trip us up!

Let’s accept God now…  And not give up!

Acknowledging a need for a savior is needed!

It’s only then that a life can be completed!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
