I Was Thinking About How Much Chris

I Was Thinking About How Much Christ Loves Me!

I was thinking about something just the other day...

I was almost at a loss for the right words to say.

I can think of a time in my life...  I can remember when.

It was that special day that I became born again!

This was a special time!  I told Jesus; “I love you!”

He came inside of me, and made my life brand new!

He spoke to my heart about how much he loves me!

And promised that he’ll always be with me!

But throughout the years, I feel as if we’ve “drifted apart.”

I feel like I’ve lost my love for him…  From my heart!

I want to return to love and serve him, like I once had.

I know that in doing this, I’ll be thankful and glad!

Please take me Jesus!  My whole life is yours!

You offer a love and happiness that’s secure!

What would I do without you?  Where would I be?

I’d be as a ship that’s “tossed around and lost at sea.”

Please come and restore your love that is so evident.

I invite you inside my heart…  To be the chief resident!

You’re the only one that I need...  This I know!

Only your blood can cleanse and make me whole!

Thank you dear Lord, for listening to my prayer.

I know that you always listen…  And you care!

My relationship with you, is your upmost concern…

You gave your love to me… I give my love in return!

Thank you for providing everything I’ll ever need!

You’ll always be the one for me!  Yes, Indeed!

About the Poet
I and my wife have 4 grown children and currently live in the Pacific Northwest. I've spent much of my life doing volunteer work in the food distribution for the needy among local churches. Many of the poems I've written are a reflection of times of adversity as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness. I've found many opportunities to share my poems with those who are hurting and discouraged. I'm thankful for the reports of many of the poems touching people's lives. I hope that the poems included on Wordchimes will touch and bless your life too!
