Blessed Solitude

Blessed Solitude

Blessed solitude, my beloved friend,

how I yearn for you at the day's end.

Sweet hour of repose, I retire to my nest,

as God's blanket of peace covers me at rest.

Awaken me from slumber at morning's light,

Jesus I thank you for watching o'er me all night.

Upon rising I'm refreshed as a new day has begun,

ready to serve You until the setting of the sun... (c)

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
