Stubborn Mule

Stubborn Mule

The stubborn mule
was dragging along
sluggish and slow
and extremely headstrong!

He was tired and worn
from the daily grind,
but no quick relief
could he ever find!

Then came a stranger
who stopped on the road
and offered to lighten
the mule's heavy load.

The mule was puzzled
but soon he agreed,
and from his burden
the mule was freed!

The mule submitted
to the stranger and then,
the two soon became
the closest of friends.

The weights were lifted
from the mule's back,
and the wise stranger
keeps him on track.

The stubborn mule
was changed the day
the stranger appeared to
show him the way!

Jesus was the kind stranger who found me burdened on a tiresome road.  He set me free, shouldered my burdens, and gave me new life!

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
