Lifeguard

Lifeguard

When the undertow is dragging you down
and the riptide pulls you out,
remember where God brought you
from, in case you still have doubt!

Think of where you'd be right now
without God's loving grace...
would you for one moment
want to go back to that place?

So why should you struggle
and swim against life's current,
Jesus is your lifeguard
when waters are turbulent.

No need to fear the fury
of the raging sea,
Jesus is keeping watch,
and He is trustworthy.

God reached out His hand
when you almost sank before...
Jesus is the same now as He
was, and will be forevermore!

Psalm 50:15

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
