Laboring in the Fields
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Laboring in the Fields

Rolling hills and dales,
sheep and goats at play,
farmers laboring in the fields
gathering bales of hay...

Miles of fertile pastures
rows of dried up husks,
life in the farmland is
work from dawn to dusk...

Cows napping in the sun,
laundry hanging out to dry
flapping in the breeze
under God's blue sky!

Barns and silos everywhere
and horses roam freely;
seems so picture perfect,
but life is not carefree!

Farmers practice patience,
and their work is non-stop
under harsh conditions to
produce a useful crop...

There's a biblical principle
we all need to apply,
as we labor in God's fields,
the harvest He'll supply!

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
