Passage To Eternity

Passage To Eternity

Think of a passenger ship at sea
where the ocean meets the sky;
you watch a dear one disappear
and stand and wave goodbye...

You know it's the beginning,
as they sail far beyond,
but the human mind can't
fathom that they're really gone!

Yet they are happy travelers
aboard that godly ship,
bound for heaven's shore
on a one-way trip...

For those left behind
it's a temporal separation
because one day we'll greet them
when we reach our destination...

O` death where is thy sting,
where is thy victory?
for the believing Christian
it's a passage to eternity!

1Cor. 15:53-56
10/25/11

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
