What We Don't Need

What We Don't Need

We don't need another preacher
with a program up his sleeve,
or another gimmick
to make lost souls believe.

We don't need fancy buildings
or sugar-coated lies,
we need to hear God's word
without shame or compromise!

We don't need social clubs,
cliques, or pot luck dinners...
we need commited Christians
who pray for dying sinners!

We need to follow Jesus
and live what we proclaim,
and maybe then the world
will want to do the same....

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
