Press On

Are alligators snapping at your heels
and snakes hissing at you?
are you swimming against the current
no matter what you do?

Is every step perplexing
climbing uphill all the way?
is the path you're traveling on
strewn with obstacles each day?

Is your roof caving in while
the neighbor's seem just fine?
I recognize the pattern here,
because it sounds like mine!

satan would not bother you
if you weren't to him a threat!
he's counting on you quitting,
on that part you can bet.

Press on Christian soldier,
fight the good fight,
by the spirit of the Lord
not by power nor by might!

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
