Seasons of the Heart

Seasons of the Heart

The heart of spring is born anew
fresh and clean like morning dew,
eager to absorb God's truth
in the early stage of youth!

The summer heart is on fire,
ablaze with only one desire,
to spread the gospel of the Lord
with His approval and reward!

The autum heart like falling leaves
flutters by with every breeze...
it's vibrant when the weather's fair,
but quickly withers with each care!

The winter heart is rigid,
its intent is often frigid;
frozen solid deep within,
the result of buried sin!

Only God can thaw the heart,
soften it, and then impart
a brand new spirit inside
where the Holy Spirit can reside!

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
