2014

May I encounter You this year,

Through rainy ways and sun-splashed days.

May I look for signs of Your presence,

Whether by the slightest breeze,

Or the bending of the upmost leaves.

May I hear Your whispers, comforting and true,

Even when my own thoughts drench as the morning dew.

May I love as You would, the lovely and the lost,

Not looking for a quick return, not counting what it costs.

Give me a listening ear, a healing tongue, a quiet refrain,

When faced with leftover feelings from rejection,

Through life's pains.

Possess, control and use me,

Keep me empty of all but You.

May each moment bring you glory, praise and honor,

For this is your rightful due.

About the Poet
I've been a Christian for over 40 years and am continually thankful for Jesus' friendship and care. I'm married and have three grown children. I also have two grandsons and three granddaughters. Praise God! My prayer is that God would use these simple poems to encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
