New Year's Prayer

New Year's Praayer

My Father in Heaven,

Hear this prayer.

Give me grace to love You and praise You all the day long,

Help me to remember Your quiet presence, Your loving voice,

And constant friendship when forlorn.

When distractions come, drown out all but Your light.

Keep a song in my heart, a melody from above,

Words of comfort, assurances of love.

My Father,

I desire to love You more, to hear You bettter,

In this dark world that knows You not.

Keep me as a child, close to You, to Your very heart,

Lead me gently on the path You deem best,

Help me to remember that You occupy both the east and the west.

Before You I humbly bow,

Hear this prayer,

Please hear it now.

About the Poet
I've been a Christian for over 40 years and am continually thankful for Jesus' friendship and care. I'm married and have three grown children. I also have two grandsons and three granddaughters. Praise God! My prayer is that God would use these simple poems to encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
