The Painting

The Painting

Jesus purchased a painting,

No design,

No clear beauty in the making.

Some remover applied,

And over great time,

A glimpse of a something special was revealed.

Underneath the dark colors, the splotches and spots,

Amazingly an image was sealed.

Aren't we the painting?

Purchased by Jesus' blood.

With His care and love,

He wipes away all sin's mud.

So, from beginning to end,

We are  His handiwork,

The will of our Savior and Friend.

About the Poet
I've been a Christian for over 40 years and am continually thankful for Jesus' friendship and care. I'm married and have three grown children. I also have two grandsons and three granddaughters. Praise God! My prayer is that God would use these simple poems to encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
