Sweet Lullabies

Sweet Lullabies

Near  my crib, He lingered there,

And sang sweet lullabies in the air.

On my tricycle, in the tree, on my first day of school,

It was He.

My first Easter outfit, Christmas day joy,

He watched as I opened each trinket and toy.

He cried when I left Him for quick folly and sin,

With strong cords of love, His grace pulled me in.

He continues to sing those sweet lullabies,

To my children's children,

And now sometimes I cry.

*I cry because they're so beautiful and I want them to know Jesus and never leave Him.

About the Poet
I've been a Christian for over 40 years and am continually thankful for Jesus' friendship and care. I'm married and have three grown children. I also have two grandsons and three granddaughters. Praise God! My prayer is that God would use these simple poems to encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
